Rude Boys Light Up Solbar in Epic Homecoming Gig
The Rude Boys returned to their stomping ground, Solbar, and turned up the heat for a night that’ll be talked about on the Sunny Coast for weeks to come!
The evening opened with a smooth, chilled set by the ever-talented Asher Beau, warming up the crowd with his laid-back beats and soulful vibe. Then, as the anticipation reached fever pitch, the Rudies hit the stage, greeted by thunderous applause from their loyal hometown fans.
From the first blast of brass to the final beat, the energy was electric. The crowd was dancing nonstop as the Rude Boys unleashed their signature ska-reggae sound, blending fan favourites with some exciting new originals. The horn section was its usual wild self, leaping and weaving across the stage, while Mick had the audience in the palm of his hand, belting out tunes and building the vibe to a crescendo.
The rhythm section didn’t miss a beat—tight, funky, and in perfect harmony. Chiming guitar riffs, deep, thumping bass, and Govi’s explosive drumming kept the groove locked in, while Angus worked his magic on the keys, adding that extra sparkle.
The highlight of the night? A roaring rendition of "Land Down Under," capped off with a jaw-dropping solo on the spiral didgeridoo.
It was a moment of pure musical mastery that had the crowd chanting for more.
After an encore that sealed the night with a bang, the Rudies left the stage, sweaty, smiling, and ready for a well-deserved drink.
